Java was developed in early 90’s by James Gosling. The team called Green Team initiated this project to developed a language for electronic appliances such as set-top boxes, televisions etc. First it’s named as “Greentalk” and its extension was .gt. Then it was developed and changed to “Oak” on the name of Oak tree which was stood outside of Gosling office. And in the year 1995 it was re named as “JAVA”.
